Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazard: a.On or about January 11, 2007, throughout the facility, employees driving forklifts were not wearing their seatbelts. The forklifts were used to move materials and products around the facility. The forklifts also utilized a ramp located along the eastern side of the building. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to corret the hazard is to ensure the use of seatbelts while operating the forklifts. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.TION
