North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to electrical shock: a) Migrant farm workers in a temporary labor camp site were exposed to: 1) No cover on wall fixture in trailer hallway of unit #2(white with green trim and cinder block add- on); fixture had live electrical wires exposed. 2) Electrical wall outlets located in the kitchen, livingroom and bedroom #1 for unit #1(white with green trim #906), and in livingroom and bedroom #2 in unit #2(white with green trim and cinder block add-on) were missing outlet covers and exposing live electrical wires. 3) Electrical wall outlets located in bathroom for unit #1(white with green trim #906), and in livingroom for air conditioner and bedroom #2 and #3 in unit #2(white with green trim and cinder block add-on), not grounded properly. Among others, one feasible and acceptable method of abating these violations is provide housing for migrant workers with permanent wiring that meets local building codes, the National Electric Code and any other applicable standards and or codes.rds
