Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:
The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from
recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious
physical harm to
employees in that employees were exposed to being struck-by metal plate
connected wood roof
trusses that were subject to collapse due to the lack of adequate and
proper bracing to hold the
trusses up as recommended by the truss manufacturer, and by the Wood Truss
Council of
America and Truss Plate Institute.
a)  Site - 10725 S.R. 54 Trinity, Fl. Building D  Employees were working
on the inside
of the building when the truss roof collapsed on or about, 06/27/06.
ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD OF ABATEMENT WOULD BE TO:
1. Follow the Truss Plate Institute's HIB-91 handbook entitled "Handling
Installing &
Bracing" Section 13.1, entitled "Temporary Bracing".
