North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to inadequately guarded pinch points: a) manufacturing area, the employer did not provide documentation, procedures nor training for employees assigned to operate the Alloyd machines. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to develop standard operating procedures and training documentation to ensure all employees assigned to operate the Alloyd machines have a clear understanding and are knowledgeable about any associated hazards. Reference: American National Standard Safety Requirements for Packaging Machinery and Packaging-Related Converting Machinery, ANSI/PMMI B155.1- 2006, Section 6.5.1.4 and Section 9.
