Section 5(a)(1) of Public Law 91-596, the Occupational Safety and Health
Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from
recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious
physical harm to
employees, in that, employees were exposed to fall hazards by using the
boom of the Genie S
60 Aerial Lift as a platform to work on.
(a)2438 Highway 98 East, Columbia, MS - On or about September 10, 2008
employees was observed standing on the boom of the Genie S 60 Aerial Lift.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
prohibit employees from sitting, standing or climbing on the boom of the
lift.
