Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to struck-by hazards during equipment assembly and
disassembly:
On or before January 27, 2008, and at other times prior thereto, at this
and other
temporary operating sites, employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard
during
the assembly and tear down of the "Hammer Slammer" ride equipment.
Among others, one feasible means of abatement would include developing
detailed
instructions/checklists, training, assurance of types of fastener parts,
and other planning
information for the proper assembly, erection, disassembly and tear down
of this large
equipment.
