Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:

proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At warehouse #1 of PR Retail Stores, Inc. (Almacenes Pitusa), located on
Building #7, Julio M. Matos Industrial Park, Carolina Puerto Rico, where
employees collected merchandise among other things it was observed that
materials were stored on rack systems with visible damage that compromised
their
integrity. Racks with compromised integrity present the hazard of racks and
material stored on them falling over the employees.  It was documente that
the
boxes that they stored on the racks weighted up to 114 pounds. The rack
systems
measured 15 feet tall.
Among other methods, one feasible method to reduce this hazard is replace
damaged storage shelving, or stack merchandise only in the lower level of
the
rack system.
En el almacen #1 de PR Retail Stores,Inc. (Almacenes Pitusa), localizado
en el
Edificio #7, Parque Industrial Julio M. Matos Carolina Puerto Rico, donde
los
empleados recogian mercancia entre otras cosas, se observo que los
materiales
fueron almacenados en un sistemas de estanteria con danos visibles, y dano
que
comprometia su integridad.  Los estantes con integridad comprometida
presentan
el riesgo de que los estantes y materiales almacenados en ellos caigan
sobre los
empleados.  Se documento que las cajas que ellos almacenaban en los
estantes
pesaban hasta 114 libras y que los sistemas del estante midieron 15 pies
de alto.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo viable para reducir este riesgo es
remplazar los
estantes de almacenage danados o acomodar mercancia solamente en el nivel
mas
bajo del sistema de estantes.
