Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to:
a/Trenton Sheet Metal/Trenton NJ Site- Production Area: Press brakes were
used with
foot controls to make parts within 4" of the brake point of operation.
Observed on or about 02/03/09
FEASIBLE METHOD OF ABATEMENT: The employer should establish and implement
a minimum safe distance program that conforms to the requirements of ANSI
B11.3-1982
paragraph 6.1.4.3 and containing the training elements listed in the OSHA
Directive CPL
2-1.25.
NOTE:  THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT
CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN AN
ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19.
