Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to automotive lifts that did not have periodic inspections
nor maintenance
procedures conducted:
(a) Facility:  On or about March 9, 2009, the three automotive lifts did
not have any periodic
inspections nor periodic maintenance procedures preformed on them.  In
addition, the middle
automotive lift was leaking hydraulic oil from a defective top seal.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to
develop periodic
inspection and maintenance procedures for the three automotive lifts and
conduct
them.  In
addition, the hydraulic oil leak on the middle automotive lift need to be
fixed.tive
