Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to falling loads:
(a) Facility, Wayne Avenue, Indiana, PA:  On or about March 10, 2009 the
safety latch on the
Atlas lift used to lift automobiles is broken. The safety cable was
broken, thus exposing
employee(s) to injury from being struck by falling loads. The Atlas lift
was identified as Model
PRO-V10, Capacity 10,000 pounds, serial number 05101361.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is to repair the
safety cable.
