Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:05/04/09 Location:Next to UV Paint Storage and UV Print Press Condition:The eyewash unit was not filled with flushing solution as specified in ANSI Z358.1- 1990. (a)Date of Violation:05/04/09 Location:Next to Water Based Paint Storage Condition:The eyewash did not have a controlled flow of flushing fluid provided to both eyes simultaneously as is specified in ANSI Z358.1-1990. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide an eyewash unit capable of providing at least 15 minutes of continuous flushing, simultaneously to both eyes. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
