North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to electrical and hazards while occupying a temporary labor camp: a) Temporary labor camp located at 3720 Highway 55 W in Kinston, NC--a total of six migrant farm workers were occupying a temporary labor camp where the following hazards existed: Exposed electrical wires in ceiling fixture. Extension cords running through a doorway, into a bathroom, in order to power a light fixture. Abatement Notice: One feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to properly cover/guard exposed wires and fan blades in accordance with National Electrical Code standards as well manufacturer's specifications. Light bulbs could be provided to eliminate the need to run extension cords through doorways and into areas where they are exposed to water.d
