North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the occupational Safety and
health Act of North Carolina:
The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of
employment  and a place free form
recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical
harm to employees in that employees
were exposed to crushed by hazards (reference ANSI/ALI B153.1-1990):
a)facility  -   where employees used an automotive lift (Joyce Automotive
Lift,  no other data
available)  that was missing the safety locking bar used to ensure the
vehicle lift is locked in
the raised position during servicing and maintenance of vehicles.
ABATEMENT NOTE: Among others, one feasible and acceptable method of
abating this
violation is to have the automotive lift repaired by replacing the locking
bar.
