Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to being struck by:
a)  Worksites such as, but not limited to 300 Somerset St., Harrison, NJ
An employee was riding on the side of a John Deere 410E backhoe while it
was
in operation.
Violation was observed on or about 11/30/10.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard
is to:
1.  Follow the manufacturers instructions regarding riders by training
operators to "Keep riders
off".s
