Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. (a)Date of Violation:12/09/10 Location:Bay #5 Equipment:Rotary Alignment #1, Model and Serial # unknown Condition:The back left swing arm of the lift was missing the bolt that connects to the arm stop and prevents the telescoping rear male arm from being separated from the rear female arm. (b)Date of Violation:12/09/10 Location:Bay #3 Equipment:Ammco Lift, Model AC21NS, Serial #100600000058910 Condition:The back right swing arm of the lift was missing the 2 bolts that connect to the arm stop and prevent the telescoping rear male arm from being separated from the rear female arm. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to inspect the lifts including the swing arm restraints to ensure proper functioning as referenced in ANSI/ALI ALIOM: 2008 Automotive Lift Institute Standard for Automotive Lifts, section 5.6.2.13. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
