Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm, including severe burns, to employees in that employees were exposed to dust explosion, deflagration, or other fire hazards from dust collectors being located inside a building and improper installation, service and maintenance: a.) Fabrication Department-Aluminum dust from the Double Bradex deburring operation was collected using an Aget Dustkop Model 30SN90-D1-SP dust collector which was located inside the building. In addition, barriers were not located between the dust collector and personnel, dust was not removed from the dust collector on a daily basis, the dust collector was not bonded and grounded, and exhaust air from the dust collector was recycled back into the building, on or about 1-5-12. b.) Fabrication Department-Aluminum dust from the Bradex inline deburring operation was collected using an Aget Dustkop Model 70SN70-D2 dust collector which was located inside the building. In addition, barriers were not located between the dust collector and the personnel, dust was not removed from the dust collector on a daily basis, and exhaust air from the dust collector was recycled back into the building, on or about 1-5-12. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED AMONG OTHER METHODS, A FEASIBLE ABATEMENT AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD INCLUDES FOLLOWING NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION 484, "STANDARD FOR COMBUSTIBLE METALS, METAL POWDERS, AND METAL DUSTS, 2009 EDITION."
