furnish employment and a place of
employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or
likely to cause death or serious
physical harm to employees:
(a)Date of Violation:On or About 04/04/14
Location:946 Sugar Maple Street
Equipment:Mack rear load waste collection unit
Condition:Two employees were riding on the rear steps of Mack rear load
waste collection unit
and stepped off prior to the vehicle coming to a complete stop.
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct
this hazard would be to follow
the ANSI Z245.1-2007 Wastec Mobile Wastes and Recyclable Materials
Collection, Transportation, and
Compaction Equipment Safety Requirements 6.2.5.4(e) which states under
riding steps, to ensure that no
persons mounts or dismounts riding steps unless the vehicle is completely
stopped.ly
