29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(2)(i):  Engineering and work practice controls were not used to eliminate or minimize employee exposure.     a)  Histology Lab:  On or about May 17, 2011 and at times prior thereto, the employer did not implement scalpels with safety devices.    b)  Dental Clinic:  On or about May 17, 2011 and at times prior thereto, the employer did not implement safer needle devices for dental injections.    The Department of Veterans Affairs, Boise Medical Center, was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(2)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 309968154, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed final order on June 4, 2007, with respect to a workplace located at 500 W. Fort Street, Boise, Idaho.    Note:  Abatement certification and supporting documentation are required for this item.
