29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes were not free and unobstructed. a) On or about August 16, 2011, at the above located workplace employees were required to work in a walk-in freezer. The exit route from the freezer was not maintained free and unobstructed. The freezer door's emergency handle mechanism was broken and the door could not be opened from the inside. The employees in the freezer did not have a readily available emergency exit and thereby were exposed to the hazards associated with low temperatures.
