29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    Methods of machine guarding were being bypassed through the machine computer program exposing employees to hazards such as those created by the point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. The employer failed to protect employees from cuts, lacerations, fractures and amputations while working on CNC work center machine serial number 46306 and model number VM-2.     Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch:    The employer failed to adjust the tongue guard to a maximum of ? of an inch on the Delta bench grinder in accordance with the exposure adjustment section of the standard. The distance between the wheel and the tongue guard was approximately 7/8".     Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling:    Relocatable Power Tap (RPT) was being used in the machining department for equipment and machine attachments. Employer failed to follow listed and permitted uses for RPTs. The RPT was located to the right side of the Haas CNC work center.     Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
