Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being burnt and struck by an over blast from a dust explosion:     a) On or about 2/16/2012, In the facility:  The bag support platform for the manual dump station was not bonded to the drop chute.      b) On or about 2/16/21012, In the facility:  The interior of the drop chute leading to the horizontal auger was not kept in a clean condition, void of material build up.    Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct these hazards are to:         1) Follow the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association, NFPA 654, Prevention of Fire and Dust Explosions from the Manufacturing, Processing, and Handling of Combustible Particulate Solids, 2006 edition.  Including, but not limited to:                  Section 9.3.1.3, which requires that conductive components be bonded.                  Section 12.2.1.2, which requires that feeder and housing components be cleaned.    Abatement certification is required for this item.
