29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative: a- Santino's Restaurante & Pizzeria, Parlin, NJ - An energy control program was not established for employees performing maintenance/servicing, including clearing jams, on equipment such as but not limited to the cheese grating machine. The program shall consist of written site specific procedures, training of employees and periodic review of the procedures. Written procedures shall incorporate among other things: a- type of machines b- type of energy sources and location of energy sources c- means for isolating the energy source, i.e., locks, tags Training shall be given to authorized employees, written certification of the training shall show the date of the training, the employee trained and the person performing the training. Condition noted on or about 2/27/12.
