OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by or crushed-by hazards: (a) On or about 04/27/12 - in the Baler Test Area, an employee was operating a forklift without using the seat belt. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be to ensure that all forklift drivers utilize the restraint devices provided on the forklifts, as stated in the ASME B56.1-1993, Safety Standard for Low Lift and High Lift Trucks, Section 7.39, Operator Restraint Systems.
