29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access: JOB SITE: 7315 Grand Drive, St. Louis, MO 63133, at this work site, employee's used an extension ladder to gain access to the roof of a single story residential home. The ladder was raised approximately 1.5 feet above the roof's eave. The ground to roof eave measured approximately 11 feet, 4 inches near where the ladder was stationed. Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation. The documentation should include written verification of abatement, applicable measurements or monitoring results, and photographs or videos which you believe will be helpful.
