Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees are provided protective helmets to guard against head injuries caused from falling or flying objects.

The employer does not ensure that open-sided floors or platforms six feet or more above lower levels are guarded by railings, safety-net systems, or a personal fall arrest system on all open sides.  This violation was observed on June 18, 2012 on the North end of the construction site where employees were exposed to a fall hazard of more than six feet when walking along the top outside edge of the dumpster without utilizing a fall protection system.    Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that open-sided floors or platforms six feet or more above the adjacent floor or ground level are guarded by fall protection.
