Jobsite located at 53577 Hwy 20, Plainview, NE; Area adjacent to the Spray Booth:  The electrical installations in an area used for spray painting with a flammable product did not  meet the requirements of 1910.107.  In this case, the paint area had electrical installations exposed to residue that was not in rigid conduit but in flexible conduit.       Abatement certification is required for this violation. Jobsite located at 53577 Hwy 20, Plainview, NE; Spray area adjacent to the Spray Booth:  The employer utilized this area as a spray area and did not provide for adequate ventilation as required under this section of the standard.  In this case, the employer opened the doors to an adjacent spray booth and attempted to use the booths ventilation system to exhaust flammable vapors.  The ventilation system was designed for the booth and not for an area multiple times the size of the booth.      Abatement certification is required for this violation. 29 CFR 1910.179(l)(3)(i):     Any unsafe conditions disclosed by the inspection requirements of paragraph (j) of this section shall be corrected before operation of the crane is resumed. Adjustments and repairs shall be done only by designated personnel.    Jobsite located at 53577 Hwy 20, Plainview, NE:  Gantry cranes and hoists at the facility which were inspected in March of 2012 were placed back into operation without the deficiencies noted being corrected.  Most of the hoist units and bridges involved were manufactured by Stahl.      Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation. In the assembly area, 1.5 ton cranes (in tandem) are being used to elevate completed trailer units (15,000 lbs) for loading onto transport trailers.  The crane is also being used to lift the trailers to install tires.  The trailers weight between 5,799lbs. and 12,500lbs. depending on the assembly stage.
