A device such as a panic bar that locks only from the outside is permitted on exit discharge doors.      a) rear exit - the exit door was locked with a slide bolt.

29 CFR 1910.36(g)(2):     An exit access must be at least 28 inches (71.1 cm) wide at all points. Where there is only one exit access leading to an exit or exit discharge, the width of the exit and exit discharge must be at least equal to the width of the exit access.        a) aisle 1 - the exit access was 2 feet wide, in that, it was obstructed with a metal cart on one side of the aisle and boxes of merchandise on the other side of the aisle.     b) asile 2 - the exit access was 15 1/2 inches wide, in that, it was obstructed with a forklift in the middle of the aisle and a metal shelf 15 1/2 inches away.    c) aisle 3 - the exit access was 15 inches wide, in that, it was obstructed with boxes of merchandise on top of a pallet in the middle of the aisle and a metal shelf 15 inches away.     d) aisle 3 - back of the aisle - the exit access was 11 inches wide, in that, it was obstructed with a pallet in the middle of the aisle and a metal shelf 11 inches away.    e) aisle 4 - the exit access was 13 inches wide, in that, it was obstructed with boxes of merchandise on one side of the aisle and boxes of merchandise on the other side of the aisle.     f) aisle 4 - back of the aisle - the exit access was completely blocked with merchandise.     g) back aisle - the exit access was 15 inches wide, in that, it was obstructed with ladder in the middle of the aisle and a box of merchanise on the other side.
