29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):  Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.      a)  Worksite, Exterior - Employees were installing plywood on the roof of a single story commercial building while working on the edge approximately 20ft above the ground.  Employees were not provided with a means of fall protection; on or about 7/21/12.      Note:  In addition to abatement certification the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1):   The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards:      a)  Worksite, Exterior - Employees were installing plywood on the edge of a flat roof, approximately 20ft above the ground below.  The employees were not trained to recognize the hazards associated with falling; on or about 07/21/12.        Note:  The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
