29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s):    a) For the facility at 29511 County Road 561, Tavares, FL 32778, as observed on or about 07/12/2012, employees operated an Accupress hydraulic brake press on a daily basis. No guarding device or system was in place on the brake press to prohibit employees from getting their hands in the point of operation. Employees were observed to work a couple inches away from the point of operation and were exposed to possible amputation hazards.    ABATMENT NOTE: One possible means of abatement is to use restraints or to use a laser guarding system capable of completely stopping the ram/press in a safe time frame.    Spencer Fabrications, Inc. was previously cited for aviolation of this occupational safety and healthstandard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 316388784,citation number 01, item number 001, and was affirmed as a final order on 05/16/2012, with respect to a workplace located at 29511 County Road 561, Tavares, FL 32778.
