OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):    Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to burns and slips, trips and falls:       a.  On or about  8/14/12 - During sanitation activities, a drip leg pipe from a steam trap was un-insulated and released flash steam onto the walking and working surface.    Among other methods,  one feasible and acceptable means to abate this hazard is to assure that all pipes carrying steam or hot water for process or servicing machinery, when exposed to contact and located within seven feet of the floor or working platform, is covered with a heat-insulating material in accordance with recommendations by the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) in the consensus standard ASTM(C)-1055-3 (2009), "Standard Guide for Heated System Conditions that Produce Contact Burn Injuries".  Additionally, all flash steam shall be directed to a drain.
