29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: On or about 10/22/2012 an employee was overcome by the vapors of a chemical solvent that had been removed from a part cleaning dip tank and was being stored in several containers that originally contained other products such as, but not limited to acetone and mineral spirits. The employee had not been trained on the hazards of the chemicals the being used in the workplace, availability of the hazard communication program and material safety data sheets.
