29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a)141 Wheatworth Road, Hardyston, NJ: 1. Mercer Corp Hot Melt Adhesive Application Machine was not provided with adequate guarding/device to prevent an employee from being caught in chains at the lower level of the machine. 2. The sliter blades on the paper machine was not provided with adequate guarding/device to prevent employees from being cut by the slitter blade. Violation observed on or about 10/22/12.
