1926.451(c)(2)(iv): Front-end loaders and similar pieces of equipment were used to support scaffold platforms when they were not specifically designed by the manufacturer for such use. Worksite, south - Employees engaged in carpentry work on the soffit of a residential home were observed operating from a platform approximately 14 feet above the next lower level. A wooden pallet, used as a platform and part of a scaffold system, was supported by a Manitou MVT 133 OL C, Rough Terrain Telehandler Forktruck on, or about, 10/23/12. Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.

Worksite, south - Employees engaged in carpentry work on the soffit of a residential home were observed working on a carpenters bracket scaffold system approximately 14 feet above the ground. No guardrail systems, end rail systems or personal fall arrest systems were in place for work on a scaffold; on, or about, 10/23/12. Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.

Worksite, south Employees engaged carpentry work on the soffit of a residential home were observed working from a carpenters bracket scaffold system approximately 14 above the ground. A rough terrain fork truck was used to support one end of the scaffold and fall protection systems were not in place; on, or about, 10/23/12. Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
