29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:    (a)   Wash Bay Area - Employees use KarKraft, a corrosive chemical,  for cleaning refrigerator parts and other materials prior to painting, and the employer did not provide a suitable eyewash and shower, on or about November 11, 2012.     ABATEMENT NOTE:  Adequate eyewash must be provided for emergency use.  American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z-358.1 1981 specifies a flushing capability of not less than 1.5 liters of water per minute for 15 minutes.  (Ref. American National Standard Z-358.1-1990).      Additionally, an effective anti-bacterial agent, suitable for Ophthalmic use, added to tap water will help preserve the water and reduce the possibility of pathogens developing in the flushing solution.  An isotonic saline solution (0.95% to 1.0% NACL) buffered to a PH of 7.3 to 7.4 and preserved with a suitable antibacterial agent is less irrupting to eye over a 15 minute flush.  Eyewash equipment must have a flushing capacity of delivering to the eyes not less than 1.5 liters of water per minute for 15 minutes (Ref. American National Standard Z-358.1 - 1990)
