29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1): All places of employment, passageways, storerooms or service rooms were not kept clean and orderly or in a sanitary condition. The employer does not keep passageways, storerooms, or service rooms in an orderly or sanitary condition. This violation was observed on or about November 8, 2012, in the rear of the store where employees were exposed to hygiene, trip, slip, and fall hazards when taking breaks and/or handling merchandise without the work area being maintained in an orderly and sanitary condition. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all places of employment, passageways, storerooms or service rooms are kept clean and orderly or in a sanitary condition.

This violation was observed on or about November 8, 2012, in the storeroom where employees were exposed to a slip, trip and fall hazard when the emergency exit route was blocked with boxes, trash bags and storage racks. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that exit route(s) are kept free and unobstructed.
