29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems.    The employer does not ensure that employees are protected from falling while engaged in steel erection activity at heights greater than fifteen feet. This violation was observed on or about December 18, 2012, when employees were exposed to a fall hazard while installing metal sheeting on a roof that was 24 to 32 feet tall without any means of fall protection.    Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all employees performing steel erection activities are protected from falling.
