On or about December 26th, 2012, an employee was dry cutting concrete to widen a doorway. The concrete contained 10% crystalline silica quartz and the employer did not maintain a hazard communication program.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: On or about December 26th, 2012, an employee was dry cutting concrete to widen a doorway. The concrete contained 10% crystalline silica quartz and the employer had not ensured that the employee doing the cutting and other employees around the work operation had been trained on the hazards of silica prior to the work being conducted.
