29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii):     Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone during operating cycle:    On or about January 30, 2013 and times prior thereto, employees of K P Carriers, Inc. operated unguarded machinery in the maintenance workshop located at or near 1050 Highway 97 in Kingsland, Arkansas.  The unguarded machinery observed is as follows:    a. A CP-100 30 ton hydraulic press (model #: HV1200) manufactured by Continental Equipment Company was used as needed by employees when performing maintenance for tractors. The hydraulic press was not guarded at the point of operation, exposing employees to amputation hazards.    b. A 12 speed heavy-duty drill press (model #: CM17F and serial #: 020999) manufactured by Cummins Mack Corporation was used as needed by employees when performing maintenance for tractors.  The drill press was not guarded at the point of operation, exposing employees to rotating parts and amputation hazards.
