29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. a. On or about 11/14/2012, Sergio Alcorta, P.E., Estate Tutu Lima- Fire Station, # 390 & 386-1 Annas Retreat, St Thomas V.I., Garage roof area: Employees engaged in steel roofing operations were observed at the edge of a roof, with an unprotected side or edge at 19 ft high from the lower level without a conventional fall protection system, such as guardrail, safety net, or personal fall arrest system in place. NOTE: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.

Employees were working in steel roofing operations at the edge of a roof, with an unprotected side or edge at 19 ft high from the lower level without a conventional fall protection system. NOTE: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29. CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.
