29 CFR 1910.29(f)(1): Units did not comply with applicable requirements of paragraph (a) of this section, in that the employer failed to ensure that the general design requirements of a Tallescope Model 518 manually-propelled mobile ladder stand were met, not limited to paragraph (a)(2)(ii) which requires that the design shall safely sustain specific loads, and be protected against corrossion or deterioration; and, paragraph (a)(3)(i) which requires that suitable outrigger frames be employed to guy or brace the unit from tipping, exposing employees to fall hazards up to 22 ft.      a) On April 12, 2013, and times prior thereto, at the St. Vincent's Academy gymnasium worksite in Savannah, GA, the employer failed to inspect the Tallescope ladder stand for corrosion and deterioration of the pins required to secure the structure when in use or to enforce the use of the outriggers, which were required for properly stabilizing and distributing the load of the employee and materials on the ladder stand.     ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED.
