29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six or more feet (1.8m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest system. (a) West Corner of "Eyebrow" Roof, Wal-Mart Supercenter #2185-04, 980 North Susquehanna Trail, Selinsgrove, PA: An employee was trimming plywood at the edge of a roof (1:12 pitch) without the use of a guardrail system, safety net system or personal fall arrest system. The employee was exposed to a twenty four-foot (24') fall hazard onto concrete, as observed by the CSHO on or about May 1, 2013. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19, abatement certification and documentation is not required for this violation as abatement was observed during the inspection.
