29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b) Workers were observed engaged in residential construction activities installing roofing material on a new single-family house. Workers were exposed to potential 12.0 foot and 20.0 fall hazards in that a proper fall protection system was not utilized.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: Workers were observed engaged in residential construction activities installing roofing material on a new single-family house. Workers were exposed to potential 12.0 foot and 20.0 fall hazards in that the workers were not properly trained in fall protection criteria. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic, or video evidence, or written records.
