29 CFR 1926.50(g): Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. 29 CFR 1926.51(f)(1): The employer shall provide adequate washing facilities for employees engaged in the application of paints, coating, herbicides, or insecticides, or in other operations where contaminants may be harmful to the employees. Such facilities shall be in near proximity to the worksite and shall be so equipped as to enable employees to remove such substances. a. At the jobsite where employees were using masonry cement that contains hexavalent chromium, clean water, non-alkaline soap, and clean towels were not provided, thereby exposing employees to a contact hazard.

29 CFR 1926.451(e)(1): When scaffold platforms are more than 2 feet (0.6 m) above or below a point of access, portable ladders, hook-on ladders, attachable ladders, stair towers (scaffold stairways/towers), stairway-type ladders (such as ladder stands), ramps, walkways, integral prefabricated scaffold access, or direct access from another scaffold, structure, personnel hoist, or similar surface shall be used. Crossbraces shall not be used as a means of access. a. On the north side of the jobsite where employees were laying block from a tubular welded frame scaffold, an employee climbed up and down the scaffold from the cross braces, thereby exposing the employee to a fall hazard.

29 CFR 1926.451(g)(4)(i): Guardrail systems shall be installed along all open sides and ends of platforms. Guardrail systems shall be installed before the scaffold is released for use by employees other than erection/dismantling crews. a. At the jobsite where employees were working from the scaffolds located on the north and east side of the building, guardrails were not installed on the open ends of the scaffolds, thereby exposing employees to a 13 foot, 6 inch fall hazard. The Jeff Morgan Masonry was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.451(g)(4)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 311837991, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on October 22, 2008, with respect to a workplace located at 1327 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus OH 43212.
