29 CFR 1926.300(a): Hand tool(s), power tool(s) or similar equipment were not maintained in a safe condition:   a) Worksite, 422 Dune Rd. Westhampton NY 11978 - An employee was using a Skillsaw to cut wood paneling on the interior of a residential home.  The saw's power cord was spliced using electrical tape; on or about 05/10/13.   Note:  The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.304(d):  Portable, power-driven circular saw(s) were not equipped with a guard above and below the base plate or shoe:   a)  Worksite, 422 Dune Rd. West Hampton Beach NY - An employee was using a Skilsaw to cut wood paneling on the interior of a residential home.  The guard was kept in the open position with a piece of string; on or about 05/10/13.     Note:  In addition to abatement certification the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
