29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:  Sapna Hotel Group HIE Duluth, LLC dba Holiday Inn Express - on or about May 14, 2013, the employer had not developed and implemented a written Hazard Communication Program when employees used paints, caulks, and cleaning chemicals.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1910.157(e)(2): Portable fire extinguishers were not visually inspected at least monthly:  Sapna Hotel Group HIE Duluth, LLC dba Holiday Inn Express - on or about May 14, 2013, fire extinguishers provided by the employer were not visually inspected monthly.  The extinguisher located in the laundry room was standing on the floor, and the pin had been removed.   In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
