29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with unprotected sides or edge, 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above the lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) 5th Floor Roof Area, C Wing of Hospital - Employee observed preparing the floor and floor edge for spot welding not protected from falling 15 feet to the next lower level, on or about 05/13/13. For the purposes of this inspection, this employer was determined to be the controlling and correcting employer of the jobsite. The employer is being cited under OSHA's Multi-Employer Workplace Policy. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
