29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.    a. Southwest corner of building - employees were exposed to an approximate 13 ft fall hazard, in that, the use of fall protection was not enforced while conducting framing activities on the roof deck. Violation observed on or about 6/4/13.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access:    a. Southwest side of building - employees were exposed to an approximate 6 ft fall hazard, in that, an A-frame step ladder was used to access the upper landing of a parapet wall. The top step of the ladder was shorter than the upper landing. Violation observed on or about 06/4/13.
