29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(2)(i): Engineering and work practice controls were not used to eliminate or minimize employee exposure:    a) During the period of March 13, 2013 through June 13, 2013, at the above located workplace, employees were required to work with Nipro Hypodermic Needles (20 and 22 Gage) and Terumo Needles (25 Gage). These needles did not have engineered sharps injury protection, and placed the employees at an increased risk of needle sticks. Effective and appropriate sharps with engineered sharps injury protection were commercially available. Employees using the syringes and needles without engineered sharps injury protection were therefore exposed to the hazards associated with blood borne disease.
