29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:    a) On or about July 18, 2013, and at times prior, employees in shop #2 were exposed to chemical hazards when dispensing and using a corrosive cleaner (Conceive 10) with no eyewash or other suitable means for flushing the eyes and/or body availabe within the immediate work area.      Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").

29 CFR 1910.138(b): The employer did not base selection of appropriate hand protection on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the tasks to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the hazards and potential hazards identified:  a)  On or about July 18, 2013, and at times prior, employees in the shop were exposed to chemical hazards where the gloves provided were not suitable protection for working with the Safety Kleen parts cleaner.     Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").

29 CFR 1910.134(c)(2)(ii): The employer did not establish and implement those elements of a written program necessary to ensure that any employee using a respirator voluntarily was medically able to use that respirator, and that the respirator was cleaned, stored, and maintained so that its use does not present a health hazard to the user:  a)  On or about July 18, 2013, and at times prior, elements of a written respirator program for employees voluntarily using half-face respirators in the detail area had not been established or implemented.     The applicable elements of a respirator program when respirators are used voluntarily are:  1) Ensure that any employee using a respirator voluntarily is medically able to use that respirator;  2) Ensure that the respirator is cleaned, stored, and maintained so that its use does not present a health hazard to the user.   Exception: Employers are not required to include in a written respiratory protection program those employees whose only use of respirators involves the voluntary use of filtering facepieces (dust masks).
