29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13) Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system or another provision in paragraph (b) of this section providing for an alternative fall protection measure: a/ At the job site, exposed employees installing roofing shingles on a 2-story, residential roof were not using fall protection. The slope was approximately 7:12. The ground to eave height measured approximately nine (9) feet on either side of the garage and approximately 21 feet in the back corner opposite the garage, and approximately seven (7) feet ground to eave height for the porch in back of the residence.
